Children of Luck

I see a lot of insensitive and often inaccurate posts about refugees all across social media. Posts from politicians, organizations, and even my friends. When one confronted me recently, I started to think that there are so many people who don’t see the behind the scenes, who forget that refugees are not just a topic of discussion, but that they are people just like us. Aren’t we all just children of luck? I could so easily be in their shoes if I was simply born in a different country or a different family. I wanted this piece to embody the humanity, how beautiful and diverse each person and story is.
