Historically Yazidis live in present-day Iraq, Turkey and Syria. Due to war and persecution (72 genocides) the population has decreased in the middle east and moved to other places like Armenia, Georgia, Russia, Europe and North America. The forced migration of Yazidi people most recently was ISIS occupation of Iraq and the conflict in Syria forcing Yazidis to flee #Iraq and Syria. After taking the journey through Turkey many have received asylum in #Germany, the United States, Turkey and #Australia.
